Former STV Nightshift presenter and radio presenter Derek McIntyre gets set to join GO Radio for Glasgow. Derek has been in the radio business for decades now and presented all manner of programmes on a variety of radio stations. Best known for his "McIntyre In The Morning" Breakfast shows on QFM, Clan FM, YourRadio, L107FM and others, Derek said "I've had the privilege over the years of waking up listeners across West Central Scotland, Paisley, Lanarkshire, Dumbarton, Clydebank, Inverclyde and Argyll and Bute but had to sideline the show due to working on the late night TV programme. I did think of returning to radio after the TV show came to an end but by that time the radio industry's landscape had completely changed so it seemed like a good time to stop."

GO Radio Glasgow

Derek McIntyre signs for new Glasgow  DAB station - GO radio

"With GO radio I see a return to personality driven local radio and that's something I am interested in." Derek has been lined up to present the 10am - 2pm slot on GO radio which he intends to pack full of studio guests and information about what's happening in the city,"

"Glasgow is in a unique position where there's never a day that passes that there's not something interesting going on, I hope to capture the essence of that and bring to the listeners each day"

But will he miss doing the breakfast show?

"I seem to have developed an aversion to alarm clocks these days so an early rise was never on the cards for me. I'm just glad GO radio has given me the opportunity to try something in a different time slot."
