In late 2011 myself and colleague features writer John Sheridan decided it would be a good idea to start producing a series of radio shorts aimed specifically at the travel market. John was already an established travel writer and correspondent and was often being invited to travel to exotic locations to sample their hospitality and I was keen to turn his travel exploits into a programme and so Travellers Checks was born.
